SO WHAT DOES IT COST?

My rate for headshots is $650. It includes everything above except the cost of hiring makeup. Additional looks are $100 each.

BUT I’M ON A BUDGET!

Fret not! For my more budget conscious clients, I also offer a lower-cost session. The cost is $400 and is a 1-hour shoot that includes 2 looks and DVD with all your images (retouching not included). It’s a great option for students and business professionals.

MAKEUP

For women, hiring a makeup artist is highly recommended to get the absolute best from your session. I have two I work with on a regular basis and they are incredible. They’ll make sure your headshots really “pop” and they also do light hair styling. They’ll stay with us throughout the shoot, making sure you always look amazing from one look to the next. For men, I usually don’t recommend makeup unless you feel it’s absolutely necessary or your skin isn’t on its best behavior. The makeup artists’ fees are $175 ($225 w/hair) for women and $125 for men.

RETOUCHING & PRINTING

For the standard session, you’ll receive 1 free retouched headshot. If you’d like to order additional images, Valerie at Hollywood Retouching handles all my work and offers a special rate for my clients. Her fee is $55 per image for basic retouching.

She’ll retouch any imperfections, even out the skin, do color correction, soften wrinkles, and more. She’ll also prepare your headshots for printing and using online. This will cover most of your retouching needs, but she also offers more advanced custom retouching which is quoted per image. Her services are worth every penny and will really make your headshots stand out. Turnaround time to receive your finals is generally 4-5 business days.

For printing, I refer all my clients to Reproductions. They offer the absolute best when it comes to headshot printing in NYC.

GETTING READY

Before your shoot, we’ll discuss your goals, preferences, pet peeves, and anything else that will help us achieve the type of headshots you’re after. I’ll also send you an informative email with all the necessary information (suggestions for wardrobe, great ways to prepare, what to bring, directions, etc.) to help you be ready to hit the ground running on the day of your shoot. You can find additional info about my process here.

SHOOTING LOCATIONS

Natural light is very complimenting, especially for actors and is my preferred lighting style. However, due to the varied seasons we have in New York City, we have to work around the weather. Therefore during the spring/summer months I shoot headshots mostly outdoors here in SoHo near my place. During the fall/winter months, I work with my clients in a nice warm studio located in Chelsea that has beautiful natural light coming through the windows.

If we’re shooting outdoors take a look at the forecast and select a few days that work for you. Sunny days with no clouds and minimal wind are preferred. Some days I may already be booked, so having additional choices always helps. Selecting the right day is a little extra work, but it’s completely worth it in terms of getting incredible headshots! I can help you with scheduling if needed.

RESERVATIONS & DEPOSITS

It’s best to reserve your session 1-2 weeks in advance. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required in order to book your session and reserve the time. At least 72 hours advance notice is required for rescheduling.

PAYMENT

I accept cash, personal checks, and all major credit cards. Credit card payments are subject to a 3.5% service fee. Please make all checks payable to: Jamiya Wilson
